Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.

Salary Grade:  10

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes purchasing orders as required; tracks orders and investigates problems.
2. Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual stock counts to event sales documents.
3. Interacts with vendors and departments regarding procurement procedures and status of orders; maintains and updates product catalogs, vendor files, and price lists for assigned commodity groups.
4. Print P.O. as sent to email box, match with requisition and file or process for payment.
5. Inspects inventory and assesses condition for distribution and/or recycling purposes.
6. Maintains records of inventory.
7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
8. Answer phone and assist walk-in customers.
9. Sort and distribute CVM mail
10. Prepare and process mail and packages for UPS and Federal Express send out
11. Prepare internal charge vouchers to authorize payment of UPS and Federal Express invoices.
12. Schedule vehicles for use by CVM employees and maintain vehicle log books for CVM employees.
13. Process gas tickets for payment ensuring they are charged correctly
14. Weekly prepare and enter into Banner internal charge vouchers to reimburse the storeroom for purchases made the previous week.
15. Receiving and/or delivering orders.
16. May serve as cashier and handle cash and cash-related payments.
17. May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One year of related experience.
3. Must have a valid driver's license.
4. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software packages.

Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.

Ability to determine materials, equipment, and supplies usability.
Records maintenance skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data.
Ability to use independent judgment to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
Database management skills.
Skill in the use of computers and databases.
Ability to prepare documentation.
Ability to operate a computerized cash register.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Occasional and/or light lifting required. Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
Work schedules, volume of work, or priorities seldom change; able to anticipate new work; minimum distractions or interruptions; seldom involves conflicting demands on time.

Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting more than 100 pounds.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
