This position is under the administrative supervision of the Assistant Director of Career Exploration. The Coordinator of the Bulldog Mentor Program and Campus Outreach oversees the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Bulldog Mentor Program, a university-wide initiative that connects students with MSU alumni for personal and professional development. This role also oversees Career Center outreach requests and helps to identify new opportunities for campus engagement to market Career Center services and events. In addition, the Coordinator will supervise and coordinate a team of student Career Ambassadors; who will help to deliver classroom presentations, outreach requests, and peer-to-peer career coaching.

This Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing both the Bulldog Mentor Program’s year-long mentorship plan and campus outreach processes and new initiatives. Duties will include tasks in cross-departmental collaboration, project management, marketing and communication, outreach events, and structured assessment. This position serves as an active team member of the MSU Career Center and will support career events and programs to engage students and alumni in mentoring activities. As this position grows, duties and responsibilities may change as programs are added and/or enhanced or as needs dictate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Bulldog Mentor Program Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide operational leadership for the Bulldog Mentor Program powered by PeopleGrove, overseeing all aspects of program planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
• Create a communication plan and marketing strategies for each academic year to promote the Bulldog Mentor Program to students at MSU.
• Collaborate with cross-campus stakeholders, including Career Center staff, Alumni Association partners, faculty, and student ambassadors, to implement best practices that strengthen student engagement and ensure a high-quality program experience for mentees and mentors.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for PeopleGrove updates specific to the Bulldog Mentor Program; updating internal resources, managing updates, troubleshooting, and optimizing program functionality and user satisfaction.
• Partner directly with the Division of Development and Alumni to recruit, retain, and engage alumni mentors; co-developing communication plans and marketing strategies to ensure a quality mentorship experience.
• Work closely with the Alumni Association to create meaningful opportunities for alumni to engage with MSU students around life, career, and professional experiences, fostering deeper alumni connection and sustained support of the university.
• Monitor program engagement using data dashboards and reports to support consistent program participation and user retention.
• Develop and administer program assessment tools to measure participant engagement, satisfaction, and overall impact for student mentees and alumni mentors, analyzing data to inform ongoing improvements and strategic planning.
• Collect and curate student and alumni testimonials to promote the program by illustrating program impact to encourage future participant enrollment and retention.

Campus Outreach Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the presentation/event requests form and delegate requests to appropriate staff members.
• Coordinate Career Center tabling and campus outreach to advertise events and services.
• Create communication email templates for campus outreach requests and reminder emails to Career Center staff to ensure the completion of presentations.
• Assess the use of presentation requests and create a report each semester to show the impact of campus outreach.
• Supervise and onboard Career Center Career Ambassadors on providing outreach presentations, document critiques for students, and additional campus outreach initiatives to connect students to services and resources at the Career Center.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position may supervise student employees or Graduate Assistant(s).

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
• Focus: Open to all areas of focus for this position

Experience (yrs)
• Minimum: Two years
• Focus: Directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree and experience with project management, programming, higher education experience, or related work. Experience managing large-scale project and scaling up a process or a program as it continues to grow. Experience with PeopleGrove mentor platform, or a similar technology or CRM for program roll out/customization. Experience in serving external customers (alumni, mentors, employers, students) to achieve a quality experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
