Position Function:
The System Administrator will be responsible for the data management associated with the electronic safety and security software platforms used by the Integrated Security Management Division
Salary Grade: 16

Area of Specialization:
Integrated Security Management Division
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Reports to the Director and Assistant Director of the Integrated Security Management Division.
2. Responsible for programming doors and cameras in the Genetec Security Center Unified Security platform.
3. Assists department with cardholder rights and schedule updates.
4. Manages software updates and firmware revisions for electronic safety and security software and hardware.
5. Provides software installation and updates for Genetec Security Desk clients.
6. Works with ITS for static IP requests and network port configurations.
7. Assists departments with troubleshooting access control issues.
8. Manages integrations between Genetec and other platforms.
9. Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
o Focus: Information Systems or related area
o Experience (yrs): 3-5 years in network administration, user account management, and ability to resolve PC hardware and software problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Qualification in excess of the minimum and/or experience in a security management environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Understanding of enterprise networks – VLANs, network switches.
• Strong management skills.
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Understanding of network infrastructure.
• Software management experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Externally imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to the position; may involve conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
• Job frequently requires sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
