Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Teach undergraduate Healthcare Administration courses, potentially in the areas of Managed Care, U.S. Healthcare Systems, Ethical Issues, Law & Regulation, Healthcare Policy, and Marketing. Eventually, graduate courses may be taught as the graduate program is developed.
2) May oversee student internships as required in the department's undergraduate programs
3) Develop and maintain an active research agenda applicable to Healthcare Administration that leads to publications in high-impact journals
4) Engage in interdisciplinary research and collaboration within the institution and with external partners
5) Mentor students and contribute to their academic and professional development
6) Provide service to the department, school, and university through committee work and other initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
A successful candidate for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor must have:
1) An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field. ABD status applicants will be considered if expected completion date is before appointment
2) Capacity to successfully administer student internships in Healthcare Administration
3) Established record of or demonstrated potential for quality research, teaching and service at the university level for appointment as associate professor or assistant professor, respectively
4) Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Established record of or demonstrated potential for publishing impactful research applicable to Healthcare Administration
2) Ability to teach Health Informatics, Data Science, Decision Science, or courses related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Healthcare Administration.
3) Demonstrated experience with online instruction development and delivery
