Position Function:
Tenure track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the College of Professional and Continuing Studies. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in interdisciplinary and professional fields, conducting research, seeking external funding and contributing to the overall academic mission of the College.
Salary Grade: UC
For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses as well as non-credit courses in the College of Professional Studies.
2. Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
3. Since this is a new college, participate in the development of faculty policies, committees, and
4. Contribute to collaborative program-level administrative activities related to recruitment, admissions, curriculum development, assessment, and policy review.
5. Serve on departmental, college and university committees.
6. Actively engage in professional activities related to higher education research and practice at institutional, regional, national, and international levels.
7. Engage actively in relevant regional and national associations.
8. Engage in research to advance the body of knowledge in the field and seek external funding to support teaching and research.
9. Contribute positively to the welfare and enhancement of the university and the State of Mississippi through educational outreach efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate or ABD in Leadership related field.
Minimum 3 years teaching experience using a variety of instructional methodologies.
Minimum 3 years advising adult learners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experience in public, non-profit or military organization.
Demonstrated experience in online education
Demonstrated experience in advising.
Demonstrated ability for high-quality scholarly activity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent communication and teaching skills
• Strong understanding of interdisciplinary and professional fields
• Experience effectively communicating with diverse student populations in traditional and virtual environments.
• Experience working effectively within team environments and community partners.
• Ability to conduct and publish high-quality applied research in a team environment.
• Enthusiastic about online and adult education and driven to create a meaningful impact on the lives of students.
