This position is crucial in establishing a central hub for a state-wide research ecosystem, aimed at expanding research networks, and advancing R&D across the state. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers statewide to gather information on research resources, actively contribute to the development of a shared research exchange portal, and support project sustainability through proposal development. Regular travel is required for this position.

Salary Grade:  16

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to organize, plan, and execute project activities on schedule and within budget.
2. Identify and manage project risks, implement mitigation strategies as needed.
3. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with private industry, academia, and state and federal agencies.
4. Interface with scientists and subject matter experts across the state to catalog core research facilities and equipment.
5. Work with web developers to develop a searchable online inventory of cataloged research facilities and capabilities.
6. Ensure accuracy and completeness of the online inventory and update it as necessary.
7. Create and disseminate marketing materials and communications about research resources and capabilities, such as web content, email campaigns, and brochures.
8. Promote awareness and utilization of core research facilities among institutions of higher learning within the state.
9. Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and usage of shared research resources.
10. Support tracking and reporting of project success metrics and data collection essential for meeting sponsor requirements.
11. Assist in proposal development activities, including identifying opportunities for grant funding and ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements.
12. Edit and provide writing support for grant applications, including developing content and ensuring alignment with funding program guidelines.
13. Contribute to enhancing program sustainability through proposal development and securing funding.
14. Work with individuals at all levels to ensure successful integration of all grant application components.
15. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree with focus in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, or
related field.

Experience (yrs.): Five (5) years experience in related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of professionals.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to write understandable technical text for non-expert audiences.
• Strong technical background and experience with using scientific research principles.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate multiple detailed tasks.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Frequent interruptions based on changing priorities; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job occasionally requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Some travel required, as well as working long hours and weekends.
• Vision requirements: ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
