Position Function:
This position primarily supports the in-house design efforts of Office of Planning, Design, and Construction as part of Campus Services. Specific tasks and assignments vary depending on client requests and contractual agreements.
Salary Grade: 16

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepares architectural plans, elevations, details, specifications, presentation materials and other drafting tasks for campus projects.
2. Manages in-house design projects and coordinates with Facilities Management as required. Assist Facilities Management during the construction phase and provide support as required.
3. Prepares timelines and reports on project status reports as requested for each assignment.
4. Coordinates prepared drawings and documents with civil, structural, mechanical and electrical consultants and in house staff.
5. Utilize Autocad, Revit, Sketchup and other programs to prepare construction documents and renderings for client presentations.
6. Consults and interprets the International Building Code and American Disabilities Act under the supervision of the Associate Director and Director.
7. Maintain accessible electronic files and records of completed documents.
8. Meets with the client to discuss the proposed changes in their space on a work order basis.
9. Performs evaluations of existing buildings and sites.
10. Reviews drawing for compliance to design standards.
11. Performs related duties as assigned by the Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Business Construction Science, Civil Engineering
3-5 years of directly related experience

Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Architect or Professional Engineer

• Fluent in AutoCAD, Sketchup and Microsoft Office (365)
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
•No unusual physical requirements. Requires limited lifting of files and records and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Frequent- External imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
