Responsible for the maintenance and utilization of the facility including equipment, grounds, barns, arena, track, roads, parking lots and setup and break down of events. Supervise Facilities Coordinator, Facility Operations Technician(s), student workers or intermittent workers. Assume managerial role when Director is not on the grounds, help coordinate events at MS Horse Park, administer game day RV parking. Assist with short- and long-term planning for facility. Assist Director in contract requirements. Communicate with promoters on event requirements. Must have extension knowledge of tractor operation and arena conditioning. Must be experienced in setting panels, pens and gates for equine and livestock events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assumes managerial duties of facility when Director is not on grounds.
2. Oversees all RV parking and parks cars for football fans on gameday weekends as well as for spectator events.
3. Aids in the coordination of events hosted at the MS Horse Park.
4. Assist Director with event contracts based off requirements and setup.
5. Oversees shavings/RV sales at events hosted at the MS Horse Park.
6. Plans, facilitates, and coordinates work duties/responsibilities for event set up, function and break down.
7. Orders custodial supplies and communicates needs to custodial and concession vendor.
8. Preserves the facility, arena, grounds, equipment, track, roads, parking lots and barns to ensure the facility is prepared for events at the MS Horse Park.
9. Maintains barns to ensure stalls are clean and removed and/or installed properly for events.
10. Maintains, operates and supervises operation of equipment/machinery as needed for specific tasks.
11. Maintains facility grounds to ensure facility is safe and presentable to the public.
12. Maintains arena as required for events.
13. Provides appropriate setup depending on the event and the event requirements.
14. Coordinates and facilitates the installation of facility enhancements and improvements.
15. Coordinates the operation of the facility composting activities
16. Implements safety programs and precautions to ensure that all policy and procedures are followed.
17. Supervises, assigns, and follows up on work duties assigned to Facility Coordinator and Facility Operations Technician(s).
18. Responsible for training new employees under direct leadership.
19. Administer safety checklist inspection for employees and equipment.
20. Oversee inventory control.
21. Responsible for fire and safety compliance audits through MSU and comply with recommendations.
22. Perform related duties as assigned

24. Responsible for training new employees under direct leadership.
25. Administer safety checklist inspection for employees and equipment.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Oversees supervision, which includes work allocation, training, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution. May provide input to performance reviews of other employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree.
Experience: Three (3) years experience in management of livestock shows, operation of farm equipment/machinery and/or related practical experience.
Substitution allowed:
An equivalent combination of related education and related experience may be considered for this position.
Licensure: Valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to lift and carry up to at least 150 pounds.
Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Knowledge of Livestock shows/operations.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., with one often to the point of being objectionable.
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Ability to lift and carry up to 150 pounds.
