Position Function:
The CACREP accredited Rehabilitation Counseling Program at Mississippi State University seeks applicants to join our full-time faculty for one vacant non-tenure-track assistant teaching professor position, beginning fall 2025. The Rehabilitation Counseling program has been nationally accredited since 1975. The program is based on the scientist-practitioner model with an emphasis on training in the utilization of empirically based assessment, intervention, and consultation methods. Students in the program obtain a master-of-science and doctoral degrees in counselor education with a concentration in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will involve teaching, scholarly research, service and program support through our Department of Counseling, Higher Education, Educational Psychology and Foundations. Primary responsibilities will include graduate teaching, Practicum and Internship supervision, graduate advising, and program planning activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful applicant must meet one of the following requirements to serve as core faculty in our CACREP accredited Rehabilitation Counseling program: (a) an earned doctorate (by August 16, 2025) from a CACREP-accredited counselor education program; (b) an earned doctorate from a rehabilitation counselor education program prior to January 1, 2018; (c) have been employed as a full-time core rehabilitation counseling faculty for one full year prior to July 1, 2017; or (d) have been a faculty member in a counselor education program for at least a full academic year prior to July 1, 2013.
In addition, the successful applicant must:
• Be eligible for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification.
• ABDs will be considered if the degree will be completed by August 16, 2025.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree from an accredited CACREP program; Theoretical orientation consistent with rehabilitation education and evaluation; LPC eligible in Mississippi.
• Have experience in (or show potential for) teaching core CACREP and specialized graduate-level courses in counseling to diverse student population in university settings.
• Have experience (or show potential for) providing clinical supervision, especially to rehabilitation counselors-in-training.
• Have experience (or show potential for) advising and mentoring master’s students in research, teaching, counseling, and supervision.
• Have experience (or show potential for) securing external funding.
• Have experience (or show potential for) conducting empirical research. All areas of scholarly expertise in rehabilitation counseling, chronic illness/disability, and counselor education will be considered for this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience with instructional technology (instructional software, learning management systems such as Canvas).
• Ability to teach in traditional and non-traditional formats and settings (on-campus, off-campus, evenings, online).
• Capacity to engage in research and scholarship, professional service, leadership, and advocacy.
• Advise and mentor master’s and doctoral students
• Work closely and effectively with department and university staff and faculty.
