This position will provide intermittent assistance to conference and events team and/or management at the Riley Center in Meridian.

Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Department Profile:

The Mississippi State University Riley Center is a Performing Arts and Conference Center that opened in 2006 in Meridian, Mississippi. We host more than 25 performing arts events as well as over 100 conference events each year. Visit www.msurileycenter.com for more information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*Must be able to regularly lift and transport equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
*Assist the Events Manager and team with on-site setup for Riley Center events.
*Ensure that all setups are accurate according to provided layout diagrams.
*Conduct setup evaluations with Events Manager upon completion of duties.
*Help to ensure that all event setup times are met according to weekly schedule.
*Follow proper procedures to ensure personal safety and the security of the venue's physical resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years of related experience
- or -
Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

*Physical effort required.
*Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling is required of objects up to 75 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
