Position Function:
Assist in the comprehensive management and oversight of all athletic equipment operations for the football program including, but not limited to, receiving, inventory, issuance, use, and maintenance of equipment according to established policies and procedures. This position will work closely with the Director of Football Equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the equipment room. This role will also involve significant communication with coaches, athletes, and other athletic department staff to support the needs of the football program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Director of Football Equipment in the daily operations of the football equipment room, including supervision of student managers.
2. Assist with the setup, cleaning, packing, transportation, and storage of athletic equipment for practices and games, both home and away.
3. Assist with the ordering, receiving, inventorying, and distribution of football equipment and Adidas apparel with the Director of Football Equipment.
4. Assist with development and implementation of detailed inventory management systems to track all football-specific equipment and apparel.
5. Ensure the proper fitting of all football athletes' equipment, complying with safety and regulatory standards.
6. May coordinate and assist in the budgeting process for all football equipment needs, including preparing cost estimates and monitoring expenditures.
7. Assist with the maintenance and security of the football locker and equipment room areas.
8. Support the Director of Football Equipment with shipping, receiving, and laundry operations for the football program.
9. May develop and implement training programs for equipment staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
10. Communicate with athletic department staff to ensure equipment needs are met for all football-related activities and events.
11. Comply with all applicable NCAA and SEC regulations in the performance of job duties.
12. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Coordinator of Athletic Equipment (Football):
- Education: Bachelor of Science in related field
- Experience: Minimum of post-graduate internship and/or graduate assistantship
- Commercial Driver’s License eligible; must be certified by AEMA or working towards certification.
Assistant Director of Equipment (Football):
- Education: Bachelor of Science in related field
- Experience: Minimum of two years in related area
- Commercial Driver’s License eligible; must be certified by AEMA or working towards certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience beyond the minimum; 1-2 years of relevant full-time experience.
• Knowledge of Inventory management system.
• Knowledge of proper helmet and shoulder pad fitting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to work long and irregular hours.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dirt, chemicals, etc.
• Job frequently requires walking, standing, lifting, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
• Requires handling of heavy weight objects up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis and on occasion up to 150 lbs.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
