Position Function:
The Clinical Residency at Mississippi State University is a 24-month clinical program which will meet the requirements set forth by the American College of Theriogenologists for eligibility to sit for the exam for board certification in Theriogenology. The resident will focus on providing clinical, hospital-based service while learning through interaction with and guidance from clinical specialists. Alternatively, there is the opportunity to enroll in graduate courses and extend the program to a 3-5 year course of study for the purpose of completing M.S. training.
Salary Grade: 12

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties will include student supervision and instruction. Participation in rounds and seminars is required. Providing assistance in veterinary laboratory sessions is required. Creative activities such as research and manuscript preparation are encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications:
Prerequisites other than being a Graduate of a College of Veterinary Medicine: Graduate of AVMA-accredited veterinary school and the ability to achieve licensure in Mississippi & successful completion of an internship in an appropriate area or 1 year of practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
