Position Function:

To assist in the management of the front reception area and directly supervise two support staff. To assist the Deputy Director and Executive Director as assigned.

Salary Grade:  14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage front reception area to ensure accurate processing of financial aid
documents,
to make sure phone calls and emails are answered in a prompt and courteous manner
and to provide the highest level of customer service to walk-ins as the first contacts to
the department of financial aid.
2. Counsel students and parents concerning the availability of state, federal, and
institutional student financial assistance funds
3. Maintain and update the Financial Aid and Scholarship website and the Policy and
Procedure manual.
4. Keep abreast of the state, federal, and institutional rules and regulations applicable to
the awarding of aid to eligible students.
5. Send out periodic text communications to parents and students.
6. Prepare final award letters and cost worksheets. Work with mail manager and IT to
have make these available to students and parents.
7. Organizes FAFSA days and other outreach events. Provides student financial aid
presentations for student groups or functions sponsored by high schools and
community college, and other groups.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of management or at least 3 years of Financial Aid and Scholarship experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree and additional years of Financial Aid and scholarships experience beyond the minimum.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to effectively communicate with students and staff members with a high degree of professionalism.
2. Ability to understand and apply financial aid criteria.
3. Strong attention to detail and understand the importance of confidentiality.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• No or very limited physical effort required.
• Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
