Responsible for providing scholarship, state aid, and financial aid data entry, while helping students/parents seek assistance and reviewing applicant files to determine eligibility for institutional, state aid, and Title IV assistance. Review financial aid data and adjust awards and/or other information that fall within institutional, state and federal guidelines.

Salary Grade:  13

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Counsel students/parents concerning scholarships, state aid, and financial aid.

2. Aid the Assistant Director in evaluating the decision-making process of scholarships, state aid, and financial aid awards.

3. Review and award all completed applicant files in a timely, accurate and consistent manner to determine scholarships, state aid, and financial aid eligibility.

4. Provide input into the development and revision of all letters, memoranda and other documents used to communicate with students/parents relative to the scholarships, state aid, and financial aid process.

5. Responsible for assisting with the evaluating processes to improve existing methods for processing and maintaining scholarships, state aid, and financial aid information.

6. Responsible for editing and updating reports provided by ITS relative to scholarships, state aid, and financial aid programs.

7. Data entry into Banner, Academic Works and Microsoft Access.

8. Maintain database information on prospective scholarships, state aid and financial aid eligible students.

9. Responsible for working with ITS in editing multiple records for prospective students in Banner, MAAP, and Microsoft Access.

10. Aid the Assistant Director with the Scholarship Awards Committee and the Scholarship Appeals Committee processes.

11. Performs other related tasks assigned by the Assistant Director and/or Executive Director for Financial Aid and Scholarships

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Minimum Focus
Bachelor’s Degree Business related field

Experience: Strong student orientation with two years of pertinent
work experience. Working knowledge of methods and
procedures used in collecting, analyzing, and
maintaining data. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Strong, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
2. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
3. Ability to learn, interpret and apply complex federal financial aid regulations.
4. Ability to utilize computer skills in an automated work environment.
5. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
6. Ability to reconcile financial reports

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• No or very limited physical effort required.
