Position Function:
Process and distribute all supplies, equipment and linen used by the Animal Health Center and Multi Disciplinary Laboratory (MDL); process requests for adequate levels of sterilization supplies, and instruct students in cleaning, wrapping, and sterilization techniques.
Salary Grade: 08

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean, package, and sterilize supplies, equipment, and linen for the Animal Health Center. Operate washer/sterilizer, ultrasonic washer, autoclaves and other equipment for processing supplies. Distribute supplies to appropriate areas. Assist in the instruction of students in wrapping and sterilization techniques. Responsible for requisitioning sterilization supplies. Prepare test packs and submit samples to measure sterilizer effectiveness. Rotate on-call schedule to provide service during university holidays. Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of related work experience.-or-Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a medical facility.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Exposure to carcinogenic compounds, ethylene oxide, detergents, and other cleaning compounds. Handling contaminated needles and blades.
