teaching.
Salary Grade: 13

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual hired to this position will attend various recruiting events and
academic meetings to share information about the VMT program. They will also have the
opportunity to instruct veterinary medical technology students in both classroom and
laboratory setting. This teaching opportunity will involve both large and small animals,
diagnostic testing, and other bench top labs.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
Has 2+ years of experience in relevant career area
Educational experience in veterinary medicine is preferred
Is a CVT who is or can be licensed in the state of Mississippi
Has experience with clinical procedures for both large and small animals
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with
both students and coworkers.
2. Records maintenance skills.
3. Ability to work safely and effectively with both large and small animals to teach
common clinical procedures.
4. Skill in use of computers and related software applications.
5. Ability to effectively teach and hold attention in various learning environments.
6. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
7. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
8. Knowledge of human resources process, procedures, and documentation, as
applicable to a public institution.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Labs occur in both indoor and outdoor environments during various times of the year. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
