Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Division of Education offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education. Primary responsibilities include teaching and advisement; supervision of field experience; and providing service and outreach.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Elementary Education or a related field; two years of experience as an elementary/middle school teacher; and demonstration of potential for excellence in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
More than 2 years of experience as an elementary/middle school teacher
National Board Certification
Experience with CAEP Accreditation
Experience with online and hybrid teaching methodologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge:
- Expertise in the subject area and curriculum development.
- Understanding of learning styles and effective teaching strategies.
- Familiarity with instructional technology and assessment methods.
Skills:
- Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems and digital tools.
Abilities:
- Ability to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Capacity to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and institutional service.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
