The Assessment Analyst supports the demonstration of institutional effectiveness by implementing and collecting data regarding direct measures of student learning. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for executing research design and assisting in the development of assessment instruments to capture direct measures of learning, facilitating institution-wide survey deployment and analysis, and preparing clear reports to inform decision-making. The analyst works collaboratively across departments, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting, and helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Annual Assessment Reporting: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of the institution’s annual assessment reporting cycle.
2. Research Design for Assessment Instruments: Implement and refine valid and reliable assessment tools, in consultation with faculty and program leaders to capture direct measures of student learning outcomes.
3. Survey Deployment: Facilitate institution-wide deployment of assessment surveys, applying strategies to maximize participation and minimize survey fatigue among students, faculty, and staff.
4. Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources, identifying trends and actionable insights to support continuous improvement.
5. Reporting and Presentation: Prepare and present summary reports of research findings, using data visualization and narrative to inform program and institutional assessment practices. Incorporate research results into annual assessment plans.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide guidance to academic department heads and program faculty on effective practices for measuring student learning.
7. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date on emerging trends in assessment, data collection, and survey methodology, integrating best practices into institutional processes.
8. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
• Focus: Education, Social Science, Statistics, or related field

Experience (yrs.)
•Minimum: Two years
•Focus: Directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in relevant field.
• Experience developing and implementing direct assessment measures for student learning outcomes.
• Understanding of strategies to minimize survey fatigue and improve response rates.
• Skill in creating engaging data presentations and summary reports for non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of accreditation processes and requirements related to institutional assessment and reporting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Experience in research design, assessment, program evaluation, or institutional research in a higher education or related context.
2. Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis, survey design, and item response theory.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Proficiency with data analysis tools and survey platforms.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and with individuals at all levels of the institution.
7. Commitment to ethical data practices, confidentiality, and responsible handling of sensitive information.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Job frequently requires sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
2. Job occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and
lifting up to 25 pounds
3. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
