Provide administrative support in and coordinate the administrative function of a large and complex division, department or unit.

Salary Grade:  11

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Reports to the Associate Dean for Research and Executive Programs.
2. Directs, supervises, and coordinates the administrative function of a complex office.
3. Supports academic programs' assessment data collection and reporting and ensures assessment projects are built in a timely fashion and are of high quality and accuracy.
4. Studies, analyzes, and recommends procedures and processes in order to improve continuity and simplify reporting.
5. Analyzes operating practices such as record keeping systems, office layout and performance standards to create new systems or revise established procedures.
6. Remains abreast of trends in administrative operations.
7. Coordinates collection of and participates in the preparation of operating reports using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
8. Develops, plans, and implements programs, office policies, and procedures relevant to unit mission and goals.
9. Procures supplies, furniture and office equipment.
10. Manages complex events calendar for unit; coordinates the logistics of unit functions and events; supports GPB staff travel.
11. Develops summary reports, analyzes for administrator, and makes recommendations regarding findings.
12. Interviews, trains and evaluates subordinate support staff.
13. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma
Experience (yrs.): 4-6 years Directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software packages.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Administrative Banner and Slate experience.
2. Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software packages.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

* Must be able to work behind a desk using computer and telephone for a large percentage of work time.
* Requires limited lifting of files and records.
*Frequent external imposed deadlines set and revised beyond ones' control; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position.
