The Assistant Director of Campus Visits, under the Supervision of the Associate Director of Student Recruitment, the Director of Student Recruitment, the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment and the Provost, works closely with university officials in disseminating information about Mississippi State University and the undergraduate campus visit experience. In addition, the Assistant Director of Recruitment coordinates and supervises the implementation of the recruitment goals set by the University.

Salary Grade:  15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for overseeing, organizing, implementing, and coordinating the campus visit program.
2. Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising Admissions Counselors
3. Works with the Director, Associate Director, to implement recruiting goals outlined by the University.
4. Works with Administrators, faculty, staff and other University personnel to enhance the campus visit program.
5. Oversee high school and Community College on campus recruiting strategies
6. Participates in developing effective recruitment strategies within the campus visit experience
7. Works with the office of pre-college, the welcome center, facilities and the academic colleges to facilitate the campus visit experience.
8. Visits and participates at high schools and community college recruitment fairs.
9. Provide information to prospective students and their families to promote MSU
10. Represents MSU at conferences, meetings, and other official programs.
11. Work closely with high school guidance counselors in the recruitment of prospective students.
12. Keep current on university programs and changes within the academic schools and colleges.
13. Performs additional duties as required by the Director of Student Recruitment, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment, and the Provost.

Supervisory Responsibility
May be responsible for training, assisting or assigning tasks to others. May provide input for performance reviews of other employees. May be responsible for managing a professional staff member and graduate assistants.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in student development, counseling, public Relations, marketing or related area.

Experience (yrs) Three years of direct experience within higher education recruitment.

Valid Driver's license

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
