Position Function:
A/V Systems Architect is a position under the administrative supervision of the Manager of Instructional Media Technology. Specific activities include design, programming, and support of A/V components and control systems in instructional and conference/huddle spaces in an enterprise environment; coordination and planning of enterprise level A/V projects; and digital signage support and integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Design A/V systems using enterprise components for classroom and conference/huddle spaces.
2. Develop and maintain custom A/V control systems and user interfaces using Crestron enterprise components.
3. Assist in support and maintenance of installed A/V components and control systems.
4. Monitor and evaluate systems for capacity planning and problem resolution and make recommendations to preempt and/or solve problems as indicated.
5. Assist with the management and support of MSU’s digital signage environment.
6. Evaluate, test, and recommend new A/V hardware and software.
7. Manage and coordinate enterprise scale projects as assigned.
8. Provide technical support to other ITS units and to the MSU community at large.
9. Meet regularly with other members of ITS to discuss current issues and future plans.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field AND five years of work experience in design, implementation, and support of complex audio/visual systems for instructional environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting Crestron based A/V control systems and components.
• Experience with structured cabling systems.
• Experience with supporting Windows based computers in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting Ethernet connected devices.
• Current certification as a Crestron Certified Programmer.
• Current industry recognized audio/visual professional certification.
• Experience configuring and supporting complex audio system installations.
• Experience configuring and supporting enterprise level conferencing systems.
• Experience with network protocol analysis/interpretations.
• Demonstrated management of largescale A/V system installation projects.
• Experience with supporting digital signage systems in an enterprise environment.
• Experience designing and certifying audio installations.
• Experience planning and designing enterprise level conferencing system installations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Well-developed interpersonal communication skills.
2. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
3. Ability to plan and organize.
4. Personal initiative.
5. Programming experience with PHP, C#, PowerShell, or HTML.
6. Programming experience with Crestron control systems.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Ability to visit construction sites and non-ADA accessible work areas is required.
• Job occasionally requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Vision requirements: ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
• Sitting: required to be able to sit for long periods of time, as typical days will involve sitting at computer consoles or sitting in meetings.
• Dexterity and visual acuity: required to be able to use computer screens and keyboards and manipulate small devices and parts.
• Hearing requirements: Ability to hear and respond to telephone conversations.
