We seek candidates with experience in integrating emerging approaches to sustainable and resilient design in their research, teaching, and creative practice. The candidates are expected to incorporate innovative strategies and techniques for sustainable design in studio and lecture courses as part of the design studios and technology coursework at the undergraduate level. Areas of expertise that are sought range from energy modeling, building performance simulation, innovative use of materials, structural investigations, and construction techniques, among others.
Design studios are the heart of the School of Architecture. While sustainable and resilient principles are taught in a range of courses, studios are the place in which faculty and students engage in deep investigations with the aim of advancing architecture. The Gulf Coast Community Design Studio, the Jackson Community Design Center, and other research centers at Mississippi State University provide opportunities for research collaboration. The School of Architecture and the College of Architecture, Art, and Design are making significant investments in advanced visualization and simulation through the establishment of a new state-of-theĀ art visualization and simulation lab, supporting applicants whose research agenda involves one or more of the following areas: computational approaches to energy modeling, building performance simulations, geospatial visualization, building information modeling, and digital twins. This internship at Mississippi State University is a 12-month clinical program. The intern will rotate between the surgery & medicine (food animal) and theriogenology (all species) services in house, and also the ambulatory service (large animal, including equine), with approximately equal time spent on each service. The internship provides training in clinical, hospital based service through interaction with clinical specialists (DACVIM, DABVP (Food Animal), DACT, MPH). The program is designed to prepare the individual for a residency in a corresponding discipline or entry into private practice. The program is directly supported by 2 diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, 2 diplomates of the American College of Theriogenologists, 1 diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Food Animal), 2 clinical faculty professors, 2 clinical instructors, and 4 support staff. The food animal in house clinic annual case load is 1,200-1,500 cases/year (beef 60%, dairy 30%, small ruminants 10%), and ambulatory makes 1000 trips/year (40% equine, 40% beef cow/calf and 20% dairy/small ruminants). |
